An Arctic tern (Sterna paradisaea) flies over an urban landscape inspired by London. The bird’s streamlined body in flight, its wings placed vertically, contrasts with the calm horizontality of the river, forming a cruciform composition. This species migrates back and forth each year between the coastal areas of the Northern Hemisphere, where it breeds in summer, and the sub-Antarctic regions where it winters, one of the longest migrations known to the animal world.
