The artistic process

Coral reefs, the richest marine ecosystems in terms of biodiversity (one third of the 300,000 marine species known to date for 0.1% of the ocean surface*) and also the most threatened, are suffering from ocean acidification and other anthropogenic impacts, such as ship anchors. If we do not drastically reduce our greenhouse gas emissions, scientists have predicted the disappearance of coral reefs (linked to global warming and CO2 absorption by the oceans) during the 21st century. Half of the surface of the Great Barrier Reef in Australia has already disappeared by bleaching*.
